ART IN THE WOODS
“A collective exhibit in a peculiar context in which unique artists photograph original shoes. An ode to diversity, friendship, creation and their fusion.“
There are fashion objects that have more to do with art than with the strict world of fast fashion: what happens when an object of fashion, as iconic as the shoe, fights to break free from the rigid production and sales system in which they are trapped?
Nine photographers from around the world (Italy, Spain, England, and Uruguay) will portray the shoes, designed by Gioia Maini, outdoors in total freedom and with a single delivery: release the shoe from fashion photography, decontextualizing it from its role as a wearable object and representing it through the photograph, as artwork. They are non-fashion photographers who have shared valued time, memories, a cross-section of life, a beer, or a friendship with Gioia.
An exhibition that celebrates originality, individuality, and friendship as a meeting and exchange. All in the beautiful setting of a woods, this setting was chosen because, just like Gioia, the shoes need some healthy escape from the world of fashion. Even photographs need to take a vacation from the usual art galleries.
All magically combined with an aerial performance by Erica Fierro & Chiara Fulch.
And of course to accompany the evening there will be “MUSIC & DRINKS” until stocks last.
The only way to understand what will be happening is to just be there!
